SERENDIPITY
From Director, Susan McGee
We had another wonderful year at Serendipity. We want to thank everyone who supported our fundraisers this year. A special thank you to Barb and Bob Gibbs for helping out at our Art Show. If you missed it…shame on you because it was amazing! You just can’t believe what creative teachers and artistic children we have! If any of you know of anyone looking for a great preschool that teaches Christian ideals, remember, Westminster has one. Send them our way. Thank you for all your support this year.

About Serendipity
Twenty-three years ago Rev. Gordon Butcher asked Sharron Hetzel to begin a Christian preschool here at Westminster as an outreach to the community. We began small...very small. Three students, one director (Sharron), two teachers (Jane Wellendorf and me). But oh how we’ve grown! We went from 3 students to 120 at our peak.

SERENDIPITY PLAYGROUND RENOVATION
Through two separate grants ($4,000), some Memorial Funds, and hopefully donations from our church family, we have been able to upgrade our playground to new State Standards. It took a lot of man and lady power to do this for we saved over $1,400 installing it ourselves. We recycled the old woodchips and put them on the Land Lab trail. We want to thank the following people for their help with this project: Bob Gibbs, Duane Ward, Joe McGee, Eric Wells, Phil and Lynn Smith, Sandy Stuart, Jim Munn, Dave Prokop, Dave Anderson, Pete and Kevin Mirich, and Walt Holokai. But, we aren’t through yet. The border was not in when we received the mulch so we will need another work crew to take out the old railroad ties and replace them with the new border. If you can help, please call Joe McGee (330-758-0615) or Bob Gibbs (330-792-9324). If you can’t help physically with the border, please consider donating to the balance amount we will owe: $800.
The Playground renovation project was partially supported by the memorial funds of Hannah Marie Blair, Peg & Lou Capots, Evelyn Thompson, Virginia Totten and Clyde Vanaman.

LOOK! We're the only Preschool with a LAND LAB!
