Sr. High Young Group
Where: Westminster Church
When: Done for summer!!!
It seems like not so long ago we were talking about the start of school, falling leaves, football season, the upcoming school year, and planning all the events for the social calendar. As I look back on my second full year as the Senior High Youth director, I have one reflection to make. These “kids” are something incredibly special. The education I get from them, the innocence, the energy and fire, the willingness to sacrifice. All of these attributes continually ignite the fire in my ministry to do better, to study longer, to plan harder, and to convey the message of Christ through action and not words. I have become so attached to each one of them that this time of year is difficult for me. This particular batch is even more difficult to let go of partly because my youngest brother will be moving on but also because when Lexi J. and I started working together, these seniors were just freshmen.
As a congregation, I ask all of you to pray for the decision making that goes into planning for college and the years after high school. I also ask you to pray for the planning that will go into next school year as Diane and I will be laying out our plans for next year’s curriculum. Nurture and cultivate the youth because they are the future! This is what we must do as a church, as a faith, and as a Body of Christ. May the Lord bless everyone in the summer months and keep you healthy and safe. Come September there will be a new group but the message will remain. Congratulations to all of our seniors…Adam DiSibio, Krista Mirich, Kevin Mirich, Kristin Mumaw, and Ben Pearce. Good luck to all of you!
Your Brother in Christ, Jamie D
